Adipogenesis Marker
undefined

Adipogenesis is the process by which mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) differentiate into mature adipocytes, categorized into white adipogenesis (white adipocytes) and brown adipogenesis (brown adipocytes).  It consists of two phases, namely commitment and terminal differentiation. During the commitment phase, preadipocytes decide their differentiation fate, while in the terminal differentiation phase, cells undergo marked changes in morphology and gene expression to ultimately form mature adipocytes capable of storing energy. Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) is a key fatty acid biosynthesis and oxidation enzyme that is responsible for the carboxylation of acetyl-CoA to malonyl-CoA.
