Tissue specificity：Exclusively expressed in white and gray matter oligodendrocytes in the CNS and in myelinating Schwann cells in peripheral nerves. Higher levels are found in the PNS than in the CNS or spinal cord, in the gray matter than in the white. Weak expression also found in spleen and kidney.
Induction：Detected just before birth in Schwann cells and after birth in oligodendrocytes of brainstem and spinal cord.
